The summer fruit is the watermelon. Im sure you’ve seen all your friends take aesthetically pleasing pictures with watermelon slices by the pool. This is because of its unique colour and cooling effect. So why not make a refreshing drink out of it!

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups diced seedless watermelon (1 pound)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 3/4 cups blueberries
  • 3/4 cup lightly packed fresh mint leaves, plus 8 sprigs for garnish

2). Cucumber- Lemonade Mocktail

Have you ever heard of the phrase ’as cool as a cucumber’ well that’s a way to beat the summer heat as well. Adding lemon will also create a sour but interesting twist on to this cool summer drink. The recipe is very easy to follow and the drink will leave you craving more!

Ingredients:

  • 1 paper-thin, lengthwise slice of European cucumber, for garnish
  • Ice
  • 1/4 teaspoon finely chopped dill, plus 1 dill sprig, for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

3). Sparkling Lavender + Black Tea Gin Cocktail

If you are addicted to tea like me then this recipe is perfect for you to enjoy your preference and take the edge off with the gin! Talk about killing two birds with one stone am I right?

For this easy fix you will need 30 minutes of your time to make one drink and a few ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 1 oz black tea and lavender syrup (recipe below)
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • Club soda
  • Lemon slices and mint for garnish

First things first add lemon juice, black tea and lavender syrup and gin to a metal shaking tin, then pause shaking, add ice and continue shaking for 30 seconds approximately. Strain the elements into a glass and add soda. To top it all off add garnish with mint and more lemon if you have a sour taste.

If you are unaware of how to make the black tea and lavender syrup then here’s the tea and lavender syrup you will need

  • 2 tablespoons loose black tea
  • 4 tablespoons dried whole lavender blossoms
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar

Take the black tea and lavender and place under a sieve and add boiling water to the tea and lavender. This will separate the solid and mixture. To make the watery solution into syrup add the solution into sugar under heat till a syrup is formed. Store the syrup into an airtight container in the refrigerator if not using.
