The best defense against cancer is obviously to prevent it as much as you can. But what can you do to prevent it or any other chronic disease that could affect you?
First and foremost, if you’re thinking of natural ways to prevent cancer, it is important to understand that what you eat plays a very crucial role in this. A diet, more than anything else is what you need to get back to a healthy state. After noticing the changes, produce will become your new best friend
We’re not saying that these foods will completely isolate you from the possibility of getting cancer, but studies have shown that they allow you to live a healthy lifestyle by decreasing the risk of a chronic disease.
Herbs and Spices
These two ingredients really take your dish to a whole new level. Spices such as Cayenne Peppers, Cinnamon and Turmeric combined with herbs like Oregano is like a match made in Food Heaven. Combine these ingredients with some ginger, garlic and a crunchy vegetable salad and you have prepared a lunch that is to die for.
Fresh produce is always the best. This same concept applies to the herbs and spices that you use. When you powder these ingredients or buy the processed packaging from the supermarket, they may not give you the same impact or flavor that you’re looking for. Try using whole ingredients whenever possible!
Raw Fruits and Vegetables
The modern day diet is missing out on what Mother Nature has to offer in terms of fresh produce! Eating raw fruits and vegetables plays a vital role in the prevention of cancerous cells entering your system. Berries, grapes, broccoli, leafy greens, sprouts, avocados, red and yellow peppers, red cabbage, dandelion, beets, and many more foods have been proven in numerous scientific studies to prevent cancer in the best possible way.
Do not underestimate the miraculous healing properties of whole, raw, fresh, organic, uncooked, unadulterated produce. Make fresh salads every day with loads of fresh produce. At least 80% of your salad should contain raw produce.
Green Tea drinkers have a reduced risk of breast, ovarian, colon, prostate and lung cancer. The healing powers of green tea have been valued in Asia for thousands of years. Some scientists believe that a chemical in green tea, EGCG, could be one of the most powerful anti-cancer compounds ever discovered due to the high number of antioxidants.
Fish is always a great treat; but did you know they work wonders for cancer treatment?
Researchers found that people who ate four or more servings of fish per week were nearly one-third less likely to develop the blood cancers leukemia, myeloma, and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Other studies show a link between eating fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, halibut, sardines, and tuna, as well as shrimp and scallops) with a reduced risk of endometrial cancer in women.
